2つの文をつなげる関係代名詞!使い方をおさらいしよう!【基礎編】

関係代名詞は文法問題によく出るだけでなく、実際の会話でもよく使われます。カナダにいた時は地元の人がかなりよく使っていましたね。ぜひしっかりおさらいしておきましょう!

 

関係代名詞の働き

関係代名詞自体に意味はありません。関係代名詞は、2つの文をくっつける働きをします。
例えば、

  • A. I have a book.
    「私は本を持っています。」
  • B. The book is about Japanese culture.
    「その本は日本の文化についての本です。」

A、Bの文を関係代名詞はつなげます。

関係代名詞の働き

どんな関係代名詞が使われるのかは以下の2つで決まります。

  • 先行詞が人か?それと人以外か?
  • 関係代名詞がどんな格なのか?

以下の表をぜひ頭に入れておいてください。

※先行詞とは?
→ 関係代名詞が作る形容詞節に修飾される名詞を先行詞といいます。

 

主格の関係代名詞

関係代名詞が主格の文は、
